Summer Road Trips 2010

Summer this year was so so hot! It was El Nino in the Philippines that's why. But that did not get in the way for us to have fun road trips and family bonding times.

First Stop: SUBIC
We headed to the beach at the Subic Bay. We stayed in a hotel called the Lighthouse Marina-- "Luxurious!" according to Diego. And ofcourse once at the beach, we just had to do our favorite thing of riding the waves not with a surfboard but with a jetski. Julio even tried driving it. Yeah!

Later, we went go-karting for more speed. This time, Julio really got to drive his own kart while, Diego coolly navigated for Dad.

Most part, we were just chillaxing on the beach. Our most favorite thing to do! Set up our tent, played on the sand under the sun, and swam.

Next Stop: TAGAYTAY
Then we went to the mountains for some cool breeze, to further beat El Nino! In Tagaytay, we stayed in a resort, in a stilt house located high up in the mountains. Imagine, our view from our veranda is literally the top of a very tall palm tree! According to Diego, "it's like living in a tree house!" Exactly! Our house was really unique. It was like a nipa hut made of bamboos but with all the modern amenities like air conditioner, television, refrigerator, and even hot water in the shower. It was our first time to stay in such a place. We really find it cool! Literally too. And we could hear birds and insects chirping at night through the early morning. Something that we rarely experience in the city.

And when in Tagaytay, what is there to do but eat and feast. By the mountain, by the lake, overlooking Taal volcano, in a garden, al fresco, on a terrace... You name it, we did all that. We were always stuffed.
